CLASS ABSENCE NOTICES:

These are notices sent as a courtesy, at the request of a student or family member, to a student's professors to alert the professor that the student will be absent from class due to an injury, illness, family emergency, etc... These notices are only a courtesy and students are told that they are not excused from doing the missed work or taking the missed exam/quiz. Students are reminded that they must contact their professors as soon as possible to make arrangements for any make-up work. Class absence notifications are typically handled through the Associate VP for Student Affairs/Dean of Students' Office (859-622-2642).

DECEASED STUDENT NOTICES:

There is a specific process in place to provide official information regarding EKU students who pass away (whether during a term or not) to faculty,
college deans, and University administrators. The Associate VP for Student Affairs/Dean of Students' Office is responsible for this notification and faculty members who receive information about a student death from other sources are asked to provide that information to the Associate VP/Dean of Students' office (859-622-2642).
